The Story Behind The REWRITE_ Project

The REWRITE_ Project was created after experiencing first hand the impact addiction and destructive behavioural patterns can have on families.

After losing a family member to addiction and witnessing the long term effects of alcohol dependency within the family, it became clear that addiction rarely affects only the individual. It creates cycles that extend into the lives of the people around them.

These experiences led to a deeper interest in understanding why people repeat behaviours they desperately want to stop.

Over time it became clear that many approaches to behavioural change rely heavily on motivation or willpower. While motivation can provide a temporary push, it often fades when people are faced with stress, emotional triggers, or familiar environments. What was missing was structure.

A Structured Approach to Behavioural Change

The REWRITE_ Project was created to provide structured behavioural tools that help individuals understand patterns, interrupt urges, and build sustainable change.

Rather than relying on motivation alone, the programs focus on:

  • recognising behavioural triggers

  • understanding patterns and cycles

  • creating practical interruption strategies

  • building new behavioural frameworks over time

This approach aims to support individuals in developing awareness and structure during the moments when change is most difficult.

The Goal

The goal is not to promise quick fixes or instant transformation.

Instead, the aim is to provide practical structure that helps people begin interrupting destructive cycles and creating more stable behavioural patterns over time.

For some people, that may mean understanding their own habits and urges.

For others, it may mean learning how to support someone they care about who is struggling with addiction.

The Programs

The REWRITE_ Project currently offers two structured programs.

30 Day Urge Reset

A structured program designed to help individuals interrupt urges, understand triggers, and begin building sustainable behavioural change.

Living Alongside Addiction

A program designed for individuals supporting someone struggling with addiction, helping them understand behavioural cycles, set emotional boundaries, and protect their own wellbeing.

Moving Forward

Behavioural change is rarely simple.

But with the right awareness and structure, it is possible to begin interrupting the patterns that keep people stuck.

The REWRITE_ Project exists to provide a starting point for that process.

The Approach

The REWRITE_ Project focuses on behavioural awareness, structured reflection, and practical tools that support individuals in understanding patterns and making gradual changes over time.

The programs are designed to complement personal development work and can be used alongside professional support where appropriate.

The aim is not to replace therapy or treatment, but to provide structured behavioural frameworks that help people begin interrupting destructive cycles and building healthier patterns.
